Want To Cover A Book Creatively? Here Are Five Unique DIY Book Cover Ideas:

📚 Idea #1. Decoupage Book Covers with Textured Papers & Decor Transfers

This is the perfect project if you want a soft, romantic vibe with a little texture. I used a handmade paper from The Paper Source as the base and added IOD transfers on top for a layered, collage effect. I also added a “gold lock” using IOD moulds and air dry clay. The result is a one-of-a-kind piece that looks like it came from a French flea market.

📚 Idea #2. How to Use One Decoupage Paper to Create Book Sets

This project is simple, quick, and perfect for beginners. I used a large Mint by Michelle decoupage paper to cover the front and back of three hardback books. A coat of decoupage medium, a little sanding, and you’ve got fresh, beautiful table top decor.

📚 Idea #3. Painted Book Stacks with Decor Transfers

This one’s a crowd favorite! I took five thrifted books, painted them in coordinating chalk paint colors, and stacked them together as a bundle. Then I added IOD transfers to the spines and covers. Tie the whole thing with twine or ribbon and you’ve got the cutest shelf sitter.

📚 Idea #4. Vintage-Inspired Books Using IOD Paint Inlays

Paint inlays give such a beautiful, hand painted look—and this project shows you how to use them on old book covers. I used a neutral chalk paint and a delicate inlay design for this one, and I love how soft and aged it turned out.

📚 Idea #5. Frame Decoupage Paper With Decor Moulds

This is where we go full glam! I used IOD moulds to create raised decorative accents for the front and spine of the book, then layered them with paint and wax for a patina finish. These look so regal and antique—like something out of a European library.
